If you are just starting on Bright Line, this book is NOT for you. To be useful for someone who does not have the entire program memorized, the recipes need to be marked with BLE units such as “1 serving equals 6 oz. fruit, 8 oz. grain and 4 oz. protein.†Instead they are marked with the carbohydrates, sodium, etc. — and in grams, not ounces! There is no table of contents and no index. The recipes are not organized by type of dish — desserts are mixed in with the meat dishes, for example. I am not an expert, but I see some recipes contain items Susan Thompson’s book lists as not allowed on BLE, such as maple syrup. The book is self-published on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.
I was really looking forward to receiving some "quick and easy" recipes that actually followed BLE principles. Instead, I found that many of the recipes included sugar, which really defeated the whole purpose for me! I wish I had known this before I purchased it!
I returned this for a refund, but it's now less than what I paid. This was a huge disappointment. Some of the recipes are not BLE compliant because they contain honey and jam. There are no photos and the text is large and spread out, filling the pages unnecessarily to make it look like there is more content. Save your money.
Not organized at all. No table of contents or index. The recipes aren't even alphabetical, nor are they individually formatted.No images. Some recipes contain things that are not part of the diet (taco shells). They are all basically lunch/dinner recipes. Not a single breakfast one as the cover suggests. Recipes range from 5-75 minutes.It's the size and quality of a coloring book.Honestly, I think the positive reviews are fakes.
Not worthy of 1 star. BLE is no sugar/no flour and this has recipes containing one or both.
The book is very short, about 30 recipes with some that include sugar and flour! Not following true Bright Line eating. No pictures and no recipes for breakfast even though the book cover shows a breakfast item. Very disappointed for the money spent, not a cookbook I will refer to very often. I could've gotten better recipes from a quick Pinterest search.
Once I got the book and started scanning some recipes, I realized quite a few do NOT follow the Bright Line Eating philosophy which includes NO SUGAR of any kind. There are recipes in this book that use granulated sugar, maple syrup, and honey, which are all not approved foods for Bright Line Eating. So, the title is very misleading and incorrect. Disappointing.
An helpful book. A lot of information was learned about cooking. In this book there are good recipes , for every day. This book is splendid. I inclined such huge cumbers of successful thing from this book. I was really astounded by perceiving what number of imperative recommendations accumulated in such a short book. Creator completed a phenomenal activity. I'll most likely prescribe to my loved ones. I really appreciate this book. Thanks to creator.
