Where to start such an amazing mix of poems and stories all very wonderfully written. Nicely done Sir. Every story has a different level of fantasy and desire which reaches all audiences. My personal favorite "The Madison Banquet" this story touches on some of my deepest desires and fantasies. I love a book that can take me there. Very erotic. Didn't want to put it down! I loved the entire book from beginning to end as well as the cover! I was so pleasured with this book and the way you write I ordered the trilogy Holiday Heat but that's for a different comment! More amazing writing! I want to thank you for writing your beautifully/sexy words. ~Love~
Normally I read books that are single story/series that have a beginning-middle-happy ever after, so this was a nice change to experience something a little different. I have never been one for poetry, and don't think I have read any since high school 10+ years ago, but Cameron Lincoln's writing is just amazing and I enjoyed every single poem and story.There is a variety of stories in this book and I never got the feeling of déjà vu while reading, expect the unexpected with each story you read! No story I read was predictable and I loved that!The writing is very diverse and Mr Lincoln absolutely nailed it. Whether the story is from a female, male, alternating or third person point of view, you will really enjoy the style as it is all written perfectly, there is a true talent behind this writing. There is great use of descriptive words that had me using my dictionary a couple of times but I really like it when a book does that, helps me learn and broaden my vocabulary.No two characters are alike and it's nice to see a range of female characters whose description can make any reader feel beautiful in their own skin; curvaceous or thin, tall or short, blonde or red head and everything in between; you name it. One description in particular that caught my attention was a female described as having short blonde hair. I have had short hair myself since 2005 and have always battled against the stares and assumptions being made on my appearance. A couple pages later this short haired character is described as being beautiful... I couldn't stop smiling and it really made me feel great about myself. In 135 books, I have never read about a short haired woman, especially not one being described as beautiful. Thank you Mr Lincoln... thank you.I haven't given a 5 star review in a while but this book deserves more than the 5 that I'm allowed to rate it. I will definitely be trying to get a paperback version to add to my signed collection.
AMAZING! Going to start with the sprinkling of poetry. I wasn't too happy about that, however, after the first poem I couldn't wait to read the poems, I'm sold on his poetry. This was a different format then I'm used to, I usually don't read very short stories, especially an anthology of stories. Pure eroticism in every story. Each story made me sizzle. There's nothing to compare it to. I look forward to reading more from Cameron Lincoln.

I stretched reading this book out over a period of time - so it could be enjoyed for a while and also because it was erotic I could only read it when I was alone (I usually read on my lunch break, but I had to resist a lot with this). I've been following Cameron Lincoln on both Twitter and Facebook and I have to say he is one talented and creative writer/author. It's so hard to pick a favorite out of all the stories and poems in this book because I love them all! Great job Cam!
Beautifully written collection of stories and poetry that are very diverse. There are a wide range of characters that are easy to identify with and you are drawn into each story. The author has a unique way with the written word as he brings us stories frul of romance, sex and lust! Hope to read much more of his work in the future.

A could-be-nostalgic image of a German brand of band-aid turns into a poetic exploration of cultural scars, the pain of ripping the band-aid off reverberating with the entire depth of the exploration that comprises the remainder of the book. Snippets of documents and photographs, wallpaper, drawings, cartoon panels meld in unexpected ways, opening vistas into history and emotional entanglements.A lot of the finest modern German authors have described the feeling that the present is like a thin veneer over a terrible past, that any picking at that surface reveals old wounds festering beneath, that the beauty and sense of being "safe" or "home" can never be fully trusted, because they are also always filled with unspoken pain. Just wanted to point out for people looking for a novel, this is more of an illustrated book. Some of the writing is hard to read because of the designs on the page. Having spent some time in Germany, I am fascinated by the German culture and the sorrow and guilt the younger generations feel and were taught in school. I was hoping for a more readable and flowing examination of this part of German culture. I like these kinds of illustrated books and think this is an interesting one, just not what I expected especially since it was advertised in The New Yorker.
I am almost overwhelmed at the depth and intensity of this graphic memoir. My husband is a second generation German American, his father was born in Germany shortly before the end of WWII and his mother is of Jewish heritage. As a child, my husband wasn’t taught German and learned very little of his father’s family, never heard stories of the homeland. Reading this book felt like peeking behind an unspoken curtain into some inkling of my father-in-law’s thoughts. I was absolutely captivated both for Krug and myself. I will share this digital advanced copy with my husband and hope to build the courage to share a copy with my father-in-law after publication.
This was a book I couldn't put down. Krug takes us on a personal journey exploring her family history and how she reconciles what she discovers with the life she lives today. The artwork and design, for which Krug is known, is complemented by a powerful and poignant writing style. As someone whose family history also descends from Germany, the entire narrative struck a chord. I recommend Belonging without any reservations.
Nora Krug's wonderful combination of art, photographs, and personal narrative remind me of the work of the late W. G. Sebald, another German emigre in search of the past.
I loved this book about Krug’s reconnecting with her family history and mixed emotions about her German heritage, the only drawback was the text/copy divided in the middle by an image. I found this incredibly annoying / difficult to read.
The Book was a Sobering Investigation by the Author's search for Her Familial past. The path she takes us through is a journey through modern Germany and into the Darkest parts of the Third Reich. It is an absolute Must Read.
The narrative is unique and extremely engrossing. The reader is led to conceive about the history of his own family, even if without any relation to the writer's "Heimat".
