ELENA WELSH, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist located in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Welsh received her doctorate degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and completed advanced clinical training through a postdoctoral fellowship at Gateways Psychiatric Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Welsh has worked with a wide range of clients who have experienced trauma, including survivors of torture, domestic violence, early childhood abuse, and sexual assault. She has published articles in various medical and research journals and has served as a consultant for statewide initiatives aimed at increasing trauma-informed care. Dr. Welsh also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Antioch University Los Angeles.

Amazing workbook for anyone dealing with trrauma in their lives.

Dr. Welsh’s “Trauma Survivors’ Strategies for Healing” is a MUST HAVE on your bookshelf! It is a very powerful, compassionate, and relatable workbook full of helpful and practical exercises and self-assessments to help us move forward in our lives after the experience of trauma. This is an excellent, beautifully written and easy to follow workbook that speaks to everyone. This book will guide you through the process of healing both our minds and bodies, and help us better understand the relationship between the two. Thank you Dr. Welsh for delivering such a wonderful tool for us to use in our everyday lives!

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Welsh's book, it is truly a wealth of information. Anyone can follow the steps in this book to help heal any type of trauma big or small. Each chapter helps you delve deeper into the things that may have been hindering your healing to help release and move forward. The embedded activities help you reflect as you move through the book. Definitely will become a part of my own personal toolkit and resource.

This is a fantastic book for not only people working to overcome their trauma, but also those there to offer support. Trauma informed practices are increasingly focused on in my profession - early childhood teacher education. I have found this book totally applicable to expanding my knowledge of trauma, its effects, and strategies to supporting not only adults, but children as well. It's critical to know how these experiences can evolve and their long terms effects. I've also found it useful when supporting my adult students through their own anti-bias/anti-racist teacher identity journey, which involves significant deep and critical self-reflection.

I loved the way the author made it easy to understand trauma, and always provided tools and strategies for each chapter in the book. I’m a life coach, so it was great for me to gain deeper insight into what goes on during trauma. Again, I really loved the exercises, they helped me with my emotional well-being as well. This is a great resource for both professionals or anyone involved in a trauma situation or knows someone who has.We usually think of trauma affecting us emotionally but it can also affect people physically. There is a chapter on how trauma can affect your body and how to overcome it.It is a workbook, so there are several questions and exercises with space to take notes or write answers.I received a free copy from the publisher.
