I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Another great installment in the Pine Grove series. I loved Dawson and Celine. These two are complete opposites, she's a good girl in every sense of the word and Dawson is, sexy, mysterious, and dangerous in more ways than one. When Dawson sees Celine working at Hammy's, he smitten and wants her which is a foreign feeling for him, it's been a while since he's had that wanton feeling. Striking up conversation with Celine turns into so much more. Dawson doesn't share much of his personal life and there's a reason for it. He's not a good man, but deep down he's got a heart of gold. Only he's running from his past and it's about to catch up to him and they will both be in danger. Loved this book, the series is awesome, highly recommend this book and I can't wait to see what's next.

He tries to blend in, but his past soon catches up with him, when he least expects it.Celine works at the only bar in town called Hammy's she moved from the Midwest to start over and when she sees Dawson for the first time, she instantly attracted to him. She ends up losing her virginity, but gets caught up in something that she never would have expected. Dawson is dangerous, but gentle as well. The sex scenes were intense. He's a gentle Alpha and he's anti- hero. He follows his own rules and wants Celine to be in his future. Can she adapt to his life?I received an ARC for a honest review.

Or several.22 year old Celine has been in town for a week and lands a job trending bar at Hammy's the only bar in town.Enter mysterious 35 year old Dawson who came to town a few months earlier and bought a house with cash.When Celine agrees to go home with Dawson, she is expecting to lose her virginity to the older man. She gets a lot more than she bargained for.Filthy, steamy, really dark romance. I can't stress that enough. I have read a lot of this author's work but this one did not do the work justice. Was not as good. The plot was like something I've read before. I just wasn't happy with this one. The epilogue was not really an ending either. Just didn't work for me.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.In this book we meet Celine Booth and Dawson Spark. Celine has just moved to town and the last person she every expected to meet is a man named Dawson. One look and she is hooked one touch and she can feel the sparks. Dawson knows he shouldn't have walked into that bar that night. Once he did he should have walked away from her. There is just something about her though that draws him to her. They both have secrets and if they come to light it will be possibly deadly for them both. They wonder will being together make them more or destroy them both?This is another amazing hit by this author. It does have its ups and downs that I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the surprises for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Celine is a 22 year old virgin working as a bartender. Dawson is much older at 35, he moved to Pine Grove six months ago from New York. When Dawson walks into the bar were Celine works she knows he's different from any of the locals in town and when Dawson sees her he knows he must have her. This was a fabulous read. Well written with interesting characters and an engaging storyline. The story had secrets, passion/lust and plenty of steam. If you like dark romance, this is a must read.I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Pine Grove continues to be a haven for darkness. I love that our hero Dawson has a dangerous past. Too bad he couldn't outrun it. Celine was a strong character that only got better as the story evolved and I liked that. The ending had me scratching my head- Really? But it was so perfect! I liked that the author chose not to include children/babies in this story. It's not a story for kids. Good call. I'm liking seeing the darkness this author is bringing to storylines as of late. Keep it up. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

The book is pretty good. It was the third publication and the newest volume but did find a discrepancy about beautiful Crane Beach. She states that "Crane Beach is overused by the timeshare above", and also stated the only way down to the beach is to pay. This is not the case. There is a road that runs down right to the beach and you climb over hugh bolders that have stepping pavers on top. Others obviously knew about the road since there were using it. This may be picky but I don't want other to miss this beach. All in all it's a good book.
Book was good enough for what I needed it for. If I was there for a longer time it would not have sufficed.

Extremely disappointed by this book. If you have never read any books on the subject of healing through nutrition, then this book might open your eyes. However that's all it would do. There are no practical solutions provided to a beginner in this book. I have read many books on health and nutrition and this book did NOT tell me anything I already knew. There are no shocking revelations the vets didn't tell us for me. There are much better and more through books out there on the subject of nutrition and dog health.
Just like doctors, most vets tend to continue with the same practices they were taught in the the beginning. When new discoveries are made about common practices, a good vet will reconsider their methods and try alternatives when the situation warrants it. Most of all, like this book states, we need to consider what we do as pet owners that contribute to the diseases our pets are being afflicted with. Only a vet who is truly concerned with the health of your animal and not so much the health their pocketbook would tell you the things she does here. Dr. Sutter has many good things to say, if you love your animals, read this book.
We have had the serious advantage of being guided in caring for our beloved dog by Dr. Odette for a few years, and it's great now that vast audiences will have access through this book. Just as the people medical care system is failing its patients, pets are also being over prescribed medications and procedures that are damaging when there are simpler, more intuitive and natural ways that work better. There is great value here for you and your best friend!
This is a simple and fast read full of useful information. My dogs are my family and I will do anything to keep their health at its optimal level. By following the advice she gives in the book, you will not only save money on vet bills in the long run but also learn about how the vet industry has changed and the things they will never tell you because it will take from their bottom line. I am fortunate to have found Dr. Suter when my dog hurt her back and was on antibiotics and steroids for quite some time from her regular vet. After seeing Dr. Suter my dog no longer needed medicine, she did acupuncture and chiropractic care and her pain went away. She truly cares about every single animal and it's apparent in this book and in her care.

This is a quick and easy read, that introduces pet owners to the connection between gut health and overall health and wellness. Optimal nutrition is presented and the relationship between poor quality processed kibble diets and their detriment to health is discussed . It may give some owners the courage to question protocols that might be detrimental to health including over-vaccination, the use of steroids and other drugs that simply suppress symptoms but do nothing to cure disease, toxic flea and tick medications, etc. This book will empower owners to understand that they are in charge of their pets' health and wellness and give them a starting point for a more holistic approach to health care.

After bouncing from vet to vet for years we finally found Dr. Suter. Inside of 2 months Charlie's issues we're pretty much resolved. If you care for your pet I highly recommend you read this book. Not only is it very educational but fun to read. I would suggest anyone who owns a pet even if it's healthy read this book. You'll learn a lot. Better to be proactive than reactive.

About the Author
Michael S. Engel is a Research Affiliate at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He is also University Distinguished Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Senior Curator of Entomology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Dr. Engel is the coauthor of Evolution of the Insects, and author of numerous entomological treatises. He has been to 40 countries, north of the Arctic Circle and down to the equator in tropical rain forests, in search of living insects and ancient fossils. He lives in Lawrence, KS. The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world’s preeminent scientific, educational, and cultural institutions. Since its founding in 1869, the Museum has pursued its mission—to discover, interpret, and share information about human cultures, the natural world, and the universe—through a broad program of scientific research, education, and exhibition. First, I gave this book Five Stars because the book is beautiful and should receive that rating. What is too bad is how it was simply put in a "larger than the book"box with absolutely NO packing material. That means that this heavy, hardback book bounced all over in shipment resulting in corners that were damaged and "dinged." It's really amazing the book isn't damaged more than it is. I guess the thinking is that a heavy book isn't breakable, but it is still easily damaged so just a bit of something to cusion and keep the book stable would have been helpful. ☹
If you love nature and have books filled with beautiful photos, like me, here's something unique: a gorgeous volume illustrated with 300 years of lithographs, etchings and paintings of the most diverse organisms in the history of life, the insects. It's printed on a heavy, very smooth matte paper, and reproduces the original plates in exquisite detail and gorgeous colors. The plates are from rare volumes, depicting idealized versions of an absolute riot of insects. My favorites are from an 1804 volume by Julius Ratzeburg on forest insects; each of his plates shows the sequence of life stages of an insect munching away on its host plant, along with its anatomical details, unlike any photograph could ever portray. Even the plates of lice are beautiful. Chapters are based on major themes like flight, metamorphosis, and sociality, and the writing is very engaging. I particularly like the vignettes of early entomologists. There is of course Maria Sibylla Merian, who spent 1699-1701 in the forests of Suriname painting her observations of insect life histories. And one Charles Butler, minister, early apiculturist, and author of the 1609 The Feminine Monarchie, who wrote a madrigal based on the sounds from his hives. Ulisse Aldrovandi's 1602 book was the earliest insect text, which presented a surprisingly accurate evolutionary tree of insects. Aldrovandi was also the Pope's advisor on dragons and considered himself another Aristotle. This is stuff that could only have been authored by Michael Engel, perhaps the most knowledgeable entomologist in the world and a true polyhistor. The volume is very high quality, remarkably affordable, and totally delightful.
If you are interested in the evolution of insects, this is the best volume out there for the lay reader. Engel is a world-famous scientist in the field. He also knows how to write with insight for the lay reader -- an uncommon trait for those in his field. Terrific illustrations. Excellent gift book for the holidays.
This is a beautiful book, I highly recommend it.

2017 was a spectacular year for the theater: Sweat, Oslo, and A Doll's House, Part 2 (I haven't read The Wolves yet). All three would be deserved winners for Best Drama.A few 20th and 21st century playwrights have mined old plays and characters to create wonderful plays (Tom Stoppard has done this multiple times; Equivication and Wittenburg are stunning 21st century examples of using Shakespeare's work). This play builds on the major theme from Ibsen's play (the suffocating aspects of marriage), but discusses it brilliantly through the eyes of four different characters: Nora, Torvold, Anna (the maid) and Emma (their adult daughter).The dialogue is spectacular. The characters are well rounded (they are far better than Ibsen's characters, and I say this as a fan of Ibsen). The philosophy and observations on marriage (both positive and negative) behind the dialogue are brilliant. It's a shame that more people didn't see this play during it's limited run on broadway. I am pleased to report that it is on the schedule in theaters a lot during the 2018-19 season.
I really enjoyed this play. Such a raw delve into the boons and the banes of marriage, and is unflinchingly honest. LOVED it!
